Enter Light

Last week I wrote about a little crisis we were facing. In the scheme of things, it was nothing major. Other people in the world and around us face bigger problems. But this was our problem and it was affecting us. Writing that post helped me gain perspective on the issue; we have each other, and engage in some creative exercise to rekindle my photography energy.

On a Friday afternoon last week, two days after that post, we reached an agreement to resolve our issue. By the ‘Blessings of the Devil", we were able to complete that agreement today. Hurray. Time for the next chapter in our life.

Once I completed the paperwork that Friday afternoon, I decided to head out for a photo walk and get some dinner too. I popped on my earphones and played the freshly dropped Photography Daily podcast by Neale James. This was the Friday Photowalk edition. It is the edition where Neale reads out listener emails and plays snippets from interviews past while he takes photos on his walk. As luck will have it, Neale dropped this episode on Friday morning UK time, just in time for dinner in New Zealand.

Here are some of the photos I took on that Friday evening as the weight was slowly being lifted off our shoulders.

“Dusk slips into night

Light fades into shadows.

In that darkness,

I find light.”
