Chris’s retirement holiday started with a sweaty bang in Singapore. We flew to Singapore to visit mum for 5 days before flying to Japan for the true start of his retirement holiday.
The heat and humidity of Singapore is a known fact to us and we arrived prepared. We’re lucky that the weather was mostly kind and Singapore was not as hot as expected. It still does not mean we’re not perspiring excessively and feeling the less energetic towards the end of the days as the tropical climate takes it toll. However, we’ve been lucky as the climate has not been as hot as expected and we even benefited from a few tropical storms which cooled the island country down significantly.
On this trip, we helped mum buy and install a new washing machine and had wonderful time catching up with my cousins. Rather than catching up with my cousins collectively in one single session, I decided to organise catch ups with them separately, making for better conversations and connections. All these sessions were anchored by food, as expected in a country, family obsessed with eating well.
I took these photos as we ate, perspired and connected with Singapore and family.
